Hot air balloons are a visual and interesting way of seeing the local area. However, they can be deadly in ways not explained by the operators.
Such balloon rides are usually started in calm, no wind conditions. Many times the basket of passengers can be as many as 15 people. This is rather crowded. If the wind picks up quickly, landing can spill the people out in a pile or worse. Several injuries and deaths have resulted.
The recent death of a balloonist who got sucked into a sudden thunderstorm is another example.
The Franecke Law group has handled many balloon related cases for those injured. Many injuries have been experienced in ballooning and sightseeing crashes which should never have happened.
